Diversified Technique

Diversified Technique is one of the most widely used forms of manipulation in chiropractic and the most common treatment method taught at most major chiropractic colleges. It is the method most people associate with chiropractic. It is a manual adjustment technique to correct misaligned or subluxated spinal segments of the neck and back.

Diversified Technique primarily uses the practitioner’s hands to make the spinal correction with quick, small thrusts meant to increase movement in a specific joint. The patient will often hear an audible pop with each correction. These pops or clicks are called cavitation and are caused by decreased pressure inside the joint, creating a bubble of gas that clicks or pops as it bursts.
